Arthritis Changes Everyday Life
For millions of Canadians, movement isn’t something to take for granted.
Arthritis can make getting out of bed difficult. It can affect careers, relationships, parenting, sleep, mental health, and independence. And because many forms of arthritis are invisible, people living with it are often misunderstood.
Research is helping change that.
MOVE supports life-changing arthritis research that helps people stay active, reduce pain, and reclaim more of the moments that matter most.
From living with arthritis to supporting someone they love, discover why our community is raising funds to advance arthritis research and improve lives across Canada.
Why We Give. Why We MOVE.
Diagnosed at 35
I was diagnosed with arthritis at 35 and I give because staying healthy at 53 takes strength, support, and a community that understands what this fight feels like. The scientists at Arthritis Research Canada are that community for me. I give to Arthritis Research Canada so I can support the research that will help me stay active, informed, and in control of my health.

Everyone deserves to live with less pain
I lived with arthritis symptoms for most of my childhood before being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis at 21, and I know firsthand how much chronic pain can affect every part of life. Today, as a kinesiologist, I help others stay active and work alongside researchers to improve the future of arthritis care. I give because research brings hope, and I move because everyone deserves to live with less pain and more independence.

I want to see a cure in my lifetime
I’ve lived with ankylosing spondylitis for 20 years and discovered that consistently exercising, even if it’s through discomfort, is one of the best ways to stay as healthy and functional as possible. Fundraising and giving back for arthritis research has become a large part of this next chapter of my life, because although you can find a lot of success within having this condition, I wish that so much of our lives didn’t revolve around the challenges that come with a chronic illness. And I deeply want to see us get closer to a cure within my lifetime.
