Join MOVE. Raise Money. Change Lives.
Everything you need to know to take part in MOVE with Arthritis Research presented by Beachcomber Hot Tubs.
September 16–30, 2026
MOVE is a flexible virtual fundraising challenge that helps support life-changing arthritis research across Canada. Move your way to raise funds, and help create a better future for the millions of Canadians living with arthritis.
Taking part is easy:
1. Register
Sign up as an individual or create a team with friends, family, or coworkers.
2. Fundraise
Share your fundraising page and rally support from your community. Every participant commits to raising a minimum of $100.
3. MOVE
From September 16-30, move your way for 30 minutes a day. Walk, stretch, cycle, dance, do yoga – every type of physical activity counts.
Participants are encouraged to adapt the challenge to their abilities and personal goals. Whether you are working towards 30 minutes during a flare-up or pushing yourself beyond your usual routine, every move counts.
Every dollar raised helps fund research that improves mobility, independence, care, and quality of life for people living with arthritis. And because patients are active partners throughout the research process, their insights guide priorities, help design studies, test tools, and bring expertise from their lived experience. So our work stays grounded, practical, and deeply human.
Your MOVE. Your Pace.
This challenge is designed to fit into real life. Your 30 minutes can happen all at once or in smaller chunks throughout the day – whatever works for you.
Managing a flare? Adapt your movememnt to what feels safe and achievable. Already active? Consider increasing your duration, intensity, distance, or trying something new.
However you participate, every move helps support arthritis research.
Along the way, you’ll have access to:
-
Fun prizes and community challenges
-
Supportive movement videos and virtual events
-
A Strava community to track movement and cheer each other on
-
Fundraising tools and resources to help you succeed

About Arthritis Research Canada
At Arthritis Research Canada, we believe research should make a real difference in people’s everyday lives.
As North America’s largest clinical arthritis research centre, we work to find practical solutions that help people live better with arthritis – improving mobility, reducing pain, supporting independence, and helping people stay connected to the activities and people they love.
Arthritis is one of the most common and disabling chronic diseases in Canada, affecting more people than heart disease, diabetes, cancer, stroke, and dementia combined. Yet arthritis research receives only 2% of research funding in Canada. There is still so much more to discover, improve, and change.
That’s why we focus on research that has real-world impact.
Our scientists work closely with people living with arthritis to better understand the everyday challenges they face, from staying active and managing pain to improving sleep, mental health, and access to care. Together, we develop evidence-based tools, treatments, and approaches that help people live fuller, healthier lives.
With researchers, clinicians, trainees, and partners across Canada, Arthritis Research Canada is helping move arthritis care forward and changing lives through research.
